The food and service are both great. My husband and I were visiting Johnstown for a few days, and we liked Jax so much, we went two days in a row. My husband loved the blueberry pancakes and I really enjoyed my eggs, sausage and home fries the first day. The second day, we all got ham and cheese omelets - so good! I tried the cinnamon apples instead of home fries and I'm so glad I did! Not too sweet and not too soft, just right. Nice buttery toast too. A few other highlights: the smell is fantastic. As soon as you walk in, you get hit with coffee and pancakes. Perfect diner smell! And the decor is charming 1950's diner, chrome-edged tables and chairs, a cool counter with round spinny stools. Big circular lights over each table. So cute. And best of all, the servers are super efficient and super nice. Can't wait to visit again.
I've been there only 2 times since they opened - it's relatively new. However each time I was there, I enjoyed my breakfast. It's exactly what you expect from a diner. Everything is fresh, the place is very clean. Service people are very friendly. You may have a wait, if it is particularly busy. Currenly they are only open for breakfast, but they are considering lunch hours also.
